Slow Food’s Terra Madre Day Dinner – Dec. 10 at Silvio’s

Slow Food Huron Valley invites everyone to a Terra Madre Day event:

Please join us on December 10th, Terra Madre Day, as we celebrate Slow Food’s anniversary with more than 1,000 other communities around the world. Terra Madre Day is part of Slow Food’s campaign to promote the diversity of food traditions and production and a way to highlight the Ark of Taste and endangered foods around the world.

Where: Silvio’s Organic Ristorante, 715 N. University Ave., Ann Arbor, MI
When: Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 6:30-9:00pm
Cost: $40 in advance, $55 day of

Once again Silvio Medoro is observing his family traditions in preparing an incomparable Italian meal in support of the Slow Food Movement, and helping us send Michigan delegates to represent our region at the international Slow Food conference. For those over 21, there will be a (free!) hard cider tasting with Ryan Burke of Virtue Cider and a cash bar.  And, Silvio will have some of his handmade panettone in stock just in time for Christmas!

– Ossobucco alla Milanese
– Baba au Rhum

We’ll have news from a local delegate Steffanie Stauffer, about the 2014 Terra Madre event in Italy, featuring the Ark of Taste and sustainable farmers. And we’ll give an update about what Slow Food Huron Valley has done over the past year and what we’re planning for next year.
