The best recipes are locally grown. For Michiganders, it’s easy in summertime to cook delicious local food.
Maybe it means baking beloved blueberry pies.
Or crafting splendid, blended strawberry smoothies.
Perhaps there’s corn chowder you just devour.
Or salsa that makes your taste buds dance.
Whatever your recipe is—whether a main course, super side, or delectable dessert—as long as it features some fresh or frozen locally grown ingredients, we hope you’ll share and submit it to the Locavorious recipe contest.
Recipes will be judged by the Locavorious kitchen crew and will be evaluated on:
-Amount of local ingredients used
The winner and their winning recipe will be featured on the Locavorious recipe blog, and the winning local food chef will receive a newly re-designed, hot-off-the-press Locavorious t-shirt and a jar of Rena’s Straight Up Strawberry Jam.
In fact, we’re so curious about what you’re cooking from local ingredients that once you send us a recipe, you’ll be automatically entered in a drawing to win a Locavorious t-shirt just for participating. That’s right; send us your favorite recipe, made with fresh or frozen local ingredients, and be entered to win sweet treat of your own.
We can’t wait to see what you make!
