Thanks so much to everyone who contributed their recipes with delicious locally grown ingredients! The Locavorious kitchen crew prepared and tasted recipes from our six finalists, and couldn’t pick just one winner. So we have two:
- Porthole Peach Whiskey Smash from Ruth W. Nearly all locally grown or brewed ingredients! Give it a try at your next cocktail opportunity.
- Butternut Farm Salad from Ashley C. Sweet and spicy, local and unique! This dish can be made from all local and fresh ingredients right now, and then with frozen sweet corn and hot peppers in the winter.
Recipes were evaluated on originality, amount of local ingredients and tastiness. Ruth and Ashley will both receive a Locavorious T-shirt and jar of Rena’s Straight-Up Strawberry Jam.
And our T-shirt drawing winner is Becky M.
