The agenda for the day includes a tour of Food Gatherers’ newly expanded facility and a break for lunch. The live screening features national leaders in the food system speaking on initiatives like food hubs, the People’s Grocery, and “meatless Mondays,” and topics including hunger in America, food justice, food worker wage equity, school food, the science behind antibiotic resistance, and more. Speakers include leaders like Saru Jayaraman the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Restaurant Opportunities Centers United (ROC United); Nikki Silvestri, the Executive Director of Green For All; Michael Rozyne, Executive Director of Red Tomato, a non-profit produce ‘food hub’ based in Plainville, MA; and Chellie Pingree, congresswoman from Maine.
